Holektiv

The Holektiv company was founded in 2016, when Andrea Vykysalá ( Benková), Eva Stará and Karolína Křížková were united by a desire to create together. Thanks to this meeting, a purely female ensemble was formed on the Czech cultural scene. The name itself in czech is a play on words implying a group of girls/women.

Holektiv combines and connect genres such as physical theatre, dance and contemporary circus. Over the years, the company has managed to create its own unique signature style and estethic poetry.

Holektiv works and performs on the Czech and international scene and in addition to choreographic and interpretive projects is also involved in dance and circus pedagogy.

Eva Stará

Eva Stará

Dancer, performer, acrobat and choreographer. She studied dance at the Duncan Center Conservatory and continued her movement studies at the Department of Nonverbal Theater at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She collaborates with companies such as Spitfire Company, Tantehorse, Burki&com., on TS Light and FysioART studio performances. She has collaborated with directors such as R. Magro, D. Gulko, M. Forman, Š. Pácl and others. She is currently also teaching at the Dance Studio Light and ZUŠ Choceň. During workshops, she teaches contemporary dance techniques, pair acrobatics and improvisation. In her own work, she tries to combine contemporary circus, dance, and theater.

Karolína Křížková

Karolína Křížková

She graduated with a Master’s degree at the Department of Nonverbal Theater at the Academx of Performing Arts in Prague. She works mostly combine non-verbal theater, contemporary circus and dance. She is also involved in children’s theater – she created the devised the theatre fairy tale “Me, you and that” and as a performer collaborates on projects with H. Strejčková (FysioArt). She also collaborates with the ensembles Spitfire company, VerTeDance, directors: M. Forman, R. Magro, D. Gulko and others. She teaches circus techniques at the Cirqueon Circus Center and conducts theatrical movement courses at the Archalab studio. During workshops, she also teaches hand to hand and acrobatics for parents with children.

Andrea Vykysalá (Benková)

Andrea Vykysalá (Benková)

Studied at the Duncan Center Conservatory and then at the Dance Department of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with a specialization on contemporary dance. She is currently continuing the Doctor‘s program at the Dance Department of HAMU. As a performer she has collaborated with artists such as: M. Talaga, H. Strejčková (FysioArt), D. Gulko, M. Purucker, ND Brno in the opera Káťa Kabanová (directed by R. Carsen) and ND Prague in the opera Salome (directed by M. Trelinski ) and others. She co-created the choreography for the film Jan Palach (directed by R. Sedláček), and created the choreography for Pretty Mery K’s music video (directed by M. Johnson) and RMMBR (directed by J. Moravec). She also works as a teacher of contemporary dance for children and adults and is engaged in theater production.
